Latest reviews of Windoo app for iPhone and iPad

incompatible with iPhone6
On May 2015, this app does not support iphone 6.
Used to be
This app used to support iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and was able to get measurements just fine. Compatibility list had also shown iPhone 6 and Plus back then.... Do not know what happened, but maybe due to the Apple updates. Shame... :-( Pleeeeeeese do some genius effort to work around the issue. I still have little faith in you all. One More Thing.... What happens when iPhone 6s or next gen iPhone comes out..oh around Septemberish? This device is what??!! compatible w/ iPhone 5 ???!!! A FIVE????!!!!!! Sorry to mention, but when that happens, your device WILL instantly become obsolete. Hope you know that as a common sense...
Is not working
iPhone 6. App shows window with message "Calibration in progress" endless time and can not communicate with inserted device. Volume is maximum
Attention doesnt work with iphone6 and ios8
Phone recognizes Windoo3 but hangs on calibration or displays no values... Hope solution is imminent...otherwise iphone 6 owners shouldnt buy... Works fine on ios8 and iphone5
Gadget is great, app is terrible
This is a very cool gadget (I have the Windoo 3) but unfortunately, the app is a MAJOR letdown. For one, it crashes ALL the time. Even when it doesnt crash, it freezes and you have to quit it and restart it about every other time you use it. Yes, Im using it on an iPhone 5 (not iPhone 6) which it is compatible with per the manufacturers website. And even when it works, it drops out intermittently (not sure if thats the apps fault, but I really hope so...) - making the charts useless. E.g. I would be measuring the wind speed and suddenly (while the wind is at a relatively constant rate and within specifications) the measurement (and the chart) would drop to zero, stay there for a few seconds (all the while the "propeller" is spinning normally) and then goes back up again. I emailed the manufacturer - no response whatsoever. Even besides these major bugs, the app can be called primitive at best. If you look at the 4 screen shots in the description, you have seen it all. There is NOTHING else. The home screen displays the (2 to 4, depending on the model) measurements the hardware is capable of measuring. If you hit one of the small circles on one of the measurements (HARD to get it right - poor UI design) you go to a graph that only starts recording the measurement history when you are on that screen and immediately clears ALL history when you leave that screen. Thats right - the app doesnt record ANYTHING, no min, no max, no average other than if you are on a specific history graph screen, and only for the length of time you have that screen opened. No other measurements are being recorded or stored at all. The only way to record min, max, average is to keep the specific screen open, and even then, only for that specific measurement. You can manually save measurements, but that is also more of an annoyance than a feature - i.e. you are measuring wind speed and of course it changes all the time as the wind does... if you hit "Save", it will record the wind speed at the very moment when you pressed "Save" and nothing else. No min, max or average is recorded. So basically, it is useless. To annoy you further, when you save something, it opens a choice to record a picture with your measurement, with the option not to take a photo, but you have to press a button NOT to take a photo. I dont ever want to take a photo with my measurements (I dont see why I would do that - Im sure it may be useful for someone, but not for me) but there is no way to turn it off. I just have to hit "No photo please" every time I want to save a measurement. I really hope the manufacturer will invest some resources in fixing the major bugs and crashes and adds some features that would make the app worthwhile to use... it is a major letdown for a proprietary gadget that doesnt work with anything else. Why make a $100+ gadget FOR smartphones and then make the only app it works with dumber than a basic handheld wind/temp/humidity/pressure meter, ignoring to use any of the powerful possibilities a smartphone could do with all that data is beyond me. So gadget - 5 stars. App - 1 star (I would give it half a star if I could since even the basic functionality is hindered by the constant freezes and crashes). JDC Electronics - PLEASE fix the app. I feel let down after buying the expensive hardware.
